What a smart plug will never measure from your electricity bill
A smart plug measures what flows through it. Nothing else. Yet heating, hot water, and cooking do not flow through any plug: they come directly from the electrical panel. That is, roughly three-quarters of your bill, in a complete blind spot. There is a level of measurement between the meter and the the plug, and that is the one that really matters.
